Trump gives ultimatum on healthcare bill

President Donald Trump has demanded a make-or-break vote in the US House of Representatives on his new health care bill. A vote on Thursday was delayed because of opposition from some Republicans. Trump warned they had a choice between accepting his bill or keeping Barack Obama´s Affordable Care Act. House Speaker Paul Ryan: "For seven-and-a-half years we have been promising the American people that we will repeal and replace this broken law because it is collapsing and it´s failing families."

IS claims responsibility for London terror attacks

The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for Wednesday´s attack in the British capital. Police say the man behind the attack was a British-born Muslim convert Khalid Masood, who used several aliases. He was known to security services and had been investigated for extremist links in the past. Nine people have been detained in connection with the attacks on Westminster Bridge and Parliament. The death toll has now risen to four, after a 75-year-old man died on Thursday night in hospital. Fifty people were injured.

Terror charges for driver after Antwerp incident

A man has been charged with attempted terrorist murder, a day after he tried to drive a car at high speed into a pedestrian shopping area in the Belgian city of Antwerp. He´s said to be a French national of North African descent. Officials say they found knives, a rifle and a gas can with an unknown liquid in the car.

Hosni Mubarak walks free

It is being reported that the former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been released from a military hospital in Cairo, six years after he was detained. Mubarak, who´s 88, was cleared of the final murder charges against him earlier this month, after facing trial in a series of cases ranging from corruption to the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising that ended his rule.

EU celebrates 60 years of Rome Treaty

Celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome, the foundation stone of the European Union, begin today in the Italian capital. More than 40 heads of state and government will be in Rome for the main event tomorrow.

Le Pen meets Putin in Moscow

The French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen is in Moscow for talks with Russian lawmakers. She has also been meeting President Vladimir Putin. Le Pen favours strong links between France and Russia, and wants the EU to lift sanctions imposed on Moscow over the annexation of Crimea.
