Hillary Clinton diagnosed with pneumonia

The U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been diagnosed with pneumonia and has been ordered by doctors to take a break from campaigning and rest. She's has already cancelled a two-day trip to California and it remains unclear when she will be able to resume campaigning. Clinton had to abruptly leave a September 11th memorial service in New York yesterday and nearly collapsed as she was being escorted away from the event. CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta said there still many open questions: "There are still bits of information that we don't know. How did she get diagnosed with pneumonia ? Did she get a chest x-ray and when was she seen by doctor ? What type of bacteria is causing this and how is it being treated ? And what's the impact going to be on her travel schedule ? Is she going to be traveling on a plane and doing other events ? Should she be resting and getting re-hydrated even more ? These are all still open questions. "

Austrian elections to be postponed

It's been announced that the re-run of Austria's presidential election, scheduled for October 2nd, will be postponed. Austria's Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka cited the defective adhesive on the absentee ballots already distributed and said parliament will now be asked to select a new date. Sobotka says the preferred new election date is November 27th, but said another possibility would be the following Sunday, December 4th.

Syrian ceasefire set to go into effect

In Syria, a cease-fire brokered by the United States and Russia is set to begin at sunset. The government of President Bashar Assad has indicated it will respect the ceasefire, but there have been mixed messages of commitment from various rebel factions. The deal allows the Syrian government to continue to strike at the Islamic State group and al-Qaida-linked militants, until the U.S. and Russia take over the task in one week's time.

Conservatives score narrow victory in Croatia vote

Complete results from Croatia's snap election have confirmed a victory for the ruling conservatives, who now face the tough task of forming a coalition government that can push through much-needed reforms. The Croatian Democratic Union, or HDZ, has won 61 seats in the 151-member parliament, while the left-leaning People's Coalition won just 54. The leader of the losing Social Democrats, Perja Gerpin, says the country now faces even more uncertainty: "What we have in front of us is, unfortunately, a period of long and painstaking negotiation. I would now call on all political factions to keep in mind that Croatia has already lost 8-months and it cannot lose even one day."

The weather

All of Austria can look forward to sunny skies in the coming days. High temperatures are ranging from 23 to 32 degrees. Hottest in the east.
