Das britische Corvus Consort heißt auf seinem neuen Album das Glück mit Werken für Frauenchor und Harfe willkommen, der deutsche Cantus Thuringia präsentiert die Madrigal-Girlanden der Renaissancekomponistin Vittoria Raffaella Aleoti.

Chormusik mit Harfenbegleitung - das allein ist ja schon außergewöhnlich. Das neue Album des Corvus Consort und der Harfenistin Louise Thomson bietet dabei aber nicht nur drei Werke des Frauenchor-Spezialisten Gustav Holst, sondern vor allem einer mehrere Generationen umfassende Riege britischer Komponistinnen - von Imogen Holst (1907-1984) bis Shruthi Rajasekar (geb. 1996).
Das Geburtsjahr von Vittoria Raffaella Aleotti liegt weiter zurück. Die zu Lebzeiten hoch angesehene Renaissancekomponistin hat im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert in Ferrara gewirkt - für Musikschaffende aus ganz Europa damals "the place to be". Die 21 vierstimmigen Madrigale, die Aleotti unter dem Titel "Ghirlandi di Madrigali à 4 voci" veröffentlicht hat, kombiniert der von Christoph Dittmar geleitete Cantus Thuringia mit Instrumentalkompositionen von Aleottis Lehrern.
