Das diesjährige Ars Electronica Festival steht unter dem provokativen Titel "Who Owns the Truth?". In einer Zeit, in der digitale Technologien unser Verständnis von Realität und Wahrheit radikal verändern, stellt dieses Motto eine zentrale Frage, die uns alle betrifft.

Der "neue alte" Austragungsort, die ehemalige Postverteilungszentrale Post-City in Linz, fügt dabei eine zusätzliche Dimension hinzu. Rostige Stahlstrukturen und Betonflächen, die an die industrielle Vergangenheit erinnern, stehen im Kontrast zum zukunftsorientierten, hochmodernen Kunst und Technologie-Festival, das hier zum Leben erweckt wird. Diese Kombination aus Vergangenheit und Zukunft spiegelt auf sinnfällige Weise die Kernthemen des Festivals wider und die PostCity ist nicht nur Austragungsort, sondern wird selbst Teil des Diskurses um Wahrheit, Realität und digitale Zukunft.

This year's Ars Electronica Festival operates under the provocative title "Who Owns the Truth?". In a time where digital technologies are radically altering our understanding of reality and truth, this theme raises a central question that concerns us all.
Who owns the truth in a world shaped by big data, artificial intelligence, and algorithms? In a society that is increasingly polarized and fragmented, where misinformation and "fake news" are commonplace, what roles do art, science, and technology play?
The "new old" venue, the former Post-City mail distribution center in Linz, adds an additional dimension. Rusty steel structures and concrete surfaces, reminiscent of the industrial past, stand in contrast to the future-oriented, high-tech art and technology festival brought to life here. This combination of past and future aptly reflects the core themes of the festival. The PostCity is not just a venue, but becomes part of the discourse on truth, reality, and the digital future itself.
