Universal ethics for the future of our planet
Long Yang e.V. is a growing NGO that was founded by the Buddhist Master Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche 25 years ago. We are practically applying universal ethics through environmental, social and educational projects in Nepal and Germany. With the establishment of the Akasha Academy, we are offering a space to learn, train and apply these principles for the benefit of others. We especially empower young people to act courageously for the future of our planet. With physical strength, mental stability and the right tools at hand, they can be the change-makers this world so urgently needs. Having the skills and capacity to balance, they will be able to establish a common ground even in the most challenging situations. With the Akasha Kindergarten and International School we help children to playfully experience the facts of life and to be prepared for the future on this planet earth, which they will naturally try to protect.

Waste materials become resources with Gipave®
Iterchimica is an Italian company leader in the production of sustainable technologies for roads. The Ecopave project made it possible to develop a polymer supermodifier named Gipave®. Iterchimica was the leading company of the project, which also involved G. Eco, Directa Plus and the University of Milano Bicocca. Gipave is a patented high-tech graphene-enhanced polymeric supermodifier designed for sustainable and longer-lasting roads. It improves the performances of roads extending their lifespan, thus preventing pavement distresses, consequently reducing maintenance operations and the related costs over time. Gipave® helps reduce environmental impacts as it contains a specific type of selected hard plastic, which usually ends up in waste-to-energy plants. It has been calculated that, for a 1 km-long road, it is possible to recycle 20 tonnes of technically-selected waste plastics, avoiding their incineration. Roads built with Gipave can be 100% recyclable in future production cycles.

BioFluff — plant based fur
BioFluff is developing the first 100% plant-based fur to help fashion brands replace animal fur and plastic fur. As a B2B business we are combining green plant-fiber technology with century-old tanning legacy to create a new and sustainable material. Currently there is no sustainable fur on the market and the fashion industry has a lot of momentum to position itself in a sustainable and innovative way. Our team is composed of a female founder from India working currently in the USA on BioFluff and a male Austrian founder currently working from Italy. After creating our first prototype in early 2021, we both quit our jobs and bootstrapped. Many fashion luxury brands (Balenciaga, Prada, Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Armani) dropped fur over the past 5 years and are now dependent on plastic fur. We are planning on taking advantage of this positive momentum to implement our environmentally friendly product. bio-fluff.com

Rice for Architecture
Ricehouse was set up in 2016 by Tiziana Monterisi, architect, and Alessio Colombo, geologist, in order to follow their passion and ethics for promoting responsible change in society by means of their job. Ricehouse represents an example of circular economy, which aims to promote natural architecture by enhancing by-products of rice processing. The Company proposes new housing models as an alternative to the traditional ones, whose materials are from petrochemical origin. “Our architecture moves towards a cultural, technical and deeply committed transformation of territory and building: house is a living system”. Along with Tiziana’s experience using bio-based materials, it was clear the awareness that a critical problem for agricultural sector could represent an opportunity into the architectural world: less waste and new materials to face the high energy consumption in the construction sector. We offer building products and innovative solutions by using rice husk and rice by-products.

AM Technology - Airlite
Airlite is an air purification technology that can be applied like a paint. It purifies the air thanks to the negative ions that neutralize pollutants when they come into contact with the wall, fighting molds, bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. Using 100 sqm of Airlite is equivalent to planting 100 sqm of trees, so it helps reducing pollution: 100 sqm of Airlite eliminate 21,39 Euro 6 petrol cars in 12 hours. Moreover, it keeps spaces fresh when applied to external walls and roofs thanks to its solar reflectance property, cooling interiors up to 29% during summer and reducing CO2 emissions and energy costs up to 50%. Airlite is produced in powder form, saving 40% in weight during transport, so it produces 40% less CO2 than any other traditional paint for the same surface area applied, with a significant positive impact on the environment. Airlite has the highest number of international certifications in its field, like CradleToCradle Gold, Friendly Materials and Green Seal.

fiberglass circular economy
Composite plastics have been used for over half a century for the manufacture of countless products; boats, airplanes, car and commercial vehicle bodies, mannequins, generators, pipes, playgrounds and much more. All bulky products and difficult to dispose of. With a non-polluting mechanical process, we transform this waste into the new panels, using a minimum percentage of energy and virgin raw materials. We obtained the international patent and started the industrial production. Recomplax panels can be processed like wood: calibration, sanding, lamination, milling, gluing, painting. The panel has a uniform mass and is totally waterproof, formaldehyde-free, dimensionally stable at all temperatures, and in turn recyclable. All this allows the designer to develop “DOUBLE GREEN” new products and furnishings for interiors or exteriors, originating from recycling and recyclable again at the end of their life.

Junker, app for waste sorting and recycling
Junker is a mobile app, developed by Giunko, that helps citizens sort waste correctly. Italian citizens must sort waste in various fractions, but information may be confused, misleading, and the type of collection may vary from town to town. Junker users can scan the product’s barcode and get information about the packaging components, the materials they are made of, the correct waste bins in which they must be sorted. Information is always up to date, validated by the national authorities for waste fractions, and geolocated, thus correct according to the rules for waste sorting of the area the user lives in. Additionally, users can refer to the calendar for door-to-door collection, view collection points on the maps, get messages from their municipality, look for contact details of the municipality. 1200 municipalities in Italy have joined Junker + 20 municipalities in Switzerland. Over 2 million users have downloaded the app and our database counts 1.7 million classified products.
